Dear Human Resource Director,

My ability to design and create eye-catching, user-friendly, interactive websites will allow me to make an immediate contribution as your new web and graphic designer. The 30+ websites I’ve created and designed from concept to completion demonstrate my web design, project management and organizational skills. In addition, I have experience at creating custom graphics for both web and print media. This makes me an ideal candidate for a position in web and graphic design.

Since 2002, I have worked primarily as a freelance web and graphic designer. My goal has always been to not only meet, but exceed my clients’ expectations. My clients always knew they could count on me for problem solving, brainstorming and exceptional customer service and support. I offered a wide array of customized marketing solutions, from website design and development, to business cards, print ads, brochures, and social media marketing.

Over the years I have honed my written and verbal communication skills by interviewing prospective clients, determining their needs, and writing and presenting proposals. I built long-term relationships with clients that resulted in repeat business and referrals. These qualities would make me as asset to your company as your new web and graphic designer.

My professional experience includes a 6-month contract position as lead web designer for DynaVox Technologies. I worked with all departments of the company on many different projects, including the development of a new company intranet site and designing a new monthly electronic newsletter. I also updated and maintained the DynaVox corporate website, created HTML email announcements, and provided technical support for DynaVox sales representatives and customers across the US.

For the past 17 years, I have been working with the Adobe Creative Suite on a regular basis, gaining valuable hands-on experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver. I taught Adobe Illustrator at Community College of Allegheny County, and I’ve taught Photoshop and Dreamweaver workshops to local businesses and nonprofits.

In addition to my professional experience, I am also a volunteer with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the main organizer of a dining and social club. I have 10+ years of experience organizing social and charity events, and this has given me vast experience being part of a group working together towards a shared goal.
